Default what motor mounts?

Stock type, poly, or solid motor mounts? The car is a DD cam-only 400+rwhp.(M6) Negatives to poly or solid mounts? Should I stay with stock ones?

I still have the stock mounts in my T/A with the numbers in my sig - never had a problem. I would venture to guess that replacing with poly will increase vibration 'feel'. Most only replace one side at any rate.

I'm all for adding stiffer bushings to suspension, but like to stay away from installing for tranny or motor mounts unless absolutely necessary...

Prothane on the driverside only along with trans mount should be A- OK. I drive 7 days a week. Drives like a champ

Out of curiosity, exactly what does replacing your stock mounts with Prothane get you if your stock mounts are OK?

I can see if you're cranking out 800RWHP but at anything under 500, why go to all the trouble of changing them out if the stock mounts are still good?

Seems like pretty much a waste of time...

why would you only change the driver side? If you are doing headers, it would be a good time to change.

the general consensus is that poly motor and trans mounts will keep your y pipe from banging when you put headers on it. also keeping the motor and tranny from torquing too much keeps your pinion angle the same making it easier on your rear end.
i bought prothane motormounts and a prothane tranny mount and an energy suspension torque arm mount all from summit for 89.xx shipped.

How do you like the poly mounts? Noisey at all, worth it?

Keeps the motor in its place, helps reduce chassis flex, alot more straight line acceleration,

My header was rubbing steering shaft after the header change. plus its the torque side. As far as trans mount goes, under acceleration the gearshift doesnt move as much. Plus my trans, engine and torque arm mounts were shot anyways.

Poly motor and tranny mounts are great, less vibrations/shakes. It also applies power to the wheels more positively.

If you let your mounts go long enough your a/c line will drop down and rub on your sway bar. So I got poly trans and engine mounts. It also stoppped my mid lengths from banging the floorboard. Now I need an a/c line .
