Bogging engine

Default Bogging engine

I have a big issue, i just had to replace headgaskets and got it all back together. Now when i start it, it runs fine but has a horriable vibration but when i shift into gear it boggs way down (500rmp) and it doesnt want to move. It will move, but it has killer slow accleration such as i could have it floored and it will be moving as slow as a turtle. Any idea guys?

im thinking you might have a "running rich" issue....also the gaskets were properly aligned?..gotta ask...

check your oil...see if its milky and smells at all like gas...if so...theres a problem with the gaskets..

and what did you torque the head bolts to?

It was on a Concord (mopar), i torqued them to 45 then again to 65 ftlbs. Thats what the listing for them said to torque to, are they to loose? Would it be timing be an issue?

for 1-8
Round one 45ftlbs
round two 65 ftlbs
round three ...
round four ... (same ftlbs)

for #9 : 45ftlbs

hmm well that helps a bit, im not really familiar with that motor....but, did you turn the cams or push the pistons at all?...if so youll have a timing issue

Not that i know of, i got to theheads and pulled them off with #4 being in the "dead center" spot, So #6 should have been the first to fire (5,3,1,2,4,6). I noticed that the spark plug on the passengers side furthest in was really tight to move around. I never physically forced the cam or crank to move, on a side note i did have a vaccum like that i drove on for a few miles but i corrected that and now it doesnt want to stay running well.
