Default Problems with LS1

Hello Everyone.

I currently pulled my car out of storage put in some good gas, burnt off the old stuff and found that my car is suffering from some sort of problem.

Whenever i have it parked and i rev it up it wont go past 3500-3600RPM and it shakes really bad whenever i try to push it past that point.... acts like its starving of fuel but when i look at all the diganostics everything looks proper.

but when im driving it will pass that without any problems.

What would be some things to test, or troubleshoot?

the battery seems to have a full charge, the fuel filter was replaced less than a year ago. (only a few thousand miles ago).

if anyone has any ideas of what i can do that would be great.
thanks

Is this car an automatic? If so, I believe there is a setting in the PCM that whenever the car is in park it will not rev past a certain point. That is what it sounds like to me, you are hitting the rev limiter for park.

the car is a 6spd but i do have the parking brake up and the car out of gear.

maybe this was a stupid question.

does this mean if i am in gear with the brake down i can probably rev it to redline. so there must be a saftey for over-reving it out of gear, or with the park brake on.

am i correct with this assumption?

Does it hit a rev limiter at that point, or simply will not rev any higher?

my question would be why do you want to rev it any higher than that anyway while it's in neutral?? As long as it revs fine under a load is all the matters. Sounds to me like an early rev limiter when it's in neutral and doesn't sense any load.

That doesn't really sound right. I can rev my M6 in neutral to 6K all day long. \

No SES lights or anything? Got a scanner?

Probably still have some nasty gas, or some sediment got caught up in the fuel filter.

Could be injectors? Actually i heard of someone with the same problem, and it was do to a clogged catalytic converter. But if it goes all the way to 6,000 rpms under a full load, than i have no idea.

Start cheap. Replace the fuel filter.
