Because that may or not be the problem Batteries are expensive, he might not need one.

Mine has trouble after about a week. I have a red bulb on my driver's side that is always on for the keyless entry and alarm system (Clifford) I think that drains my batery. I also clipped the wires going to the bulb in the center counsel because mine is getting crappy and doesn't always turn off when it's closed. From now on I'm just going to pull the fuse for the clifford system whenever my car is sitting for a week. I was gone for 10 days and it started and barely ran after about 3 tries and being dumb I thought it was about dead and I grinded the starter for a second or two...it started up fine today, but I would just start checking on what it could be...2 days isn't normal, but check obvious things 1st then test chargng system and battery...what does the little volt thingy in the dash say before you start it and when it's running just out of curiosity?

You have a bad connection, battery, ground, belt, alternater or something. Your car should be able to sit for months and still start, even with the anti-theft systems running. It should be able to sit for hours with all the accessories going and the engine off, and still start.

I never arm mine and yes the few watt red bulb that is always on when not armed will drain the battery significantly over time. Mine is not an LED (early Lt1 car) I don't know about yours. Run a bulb for months off the battery and it might have trouble starting, like mine does after a week or so or half that in subzero temps.

I would get a charging system test. Most places that sell batteries will do one for cheap. A radar detector or LED bulb shouldn't be draining it that fast.

I left mine parked with the alarm on and my radar detector plugged in for over a week, and it was just barely noticable slower to turn the started but it still started.
