i know what you mean, the autozone i go to usually has only 3 quarts of it and when i ask for more they say they dont keep very much in stock, i think you can get it at a bmw or audi dealership.

I think there's a place online that sells it, but shipping is expensive. Search in here (if it's working), somebody posted a link for it a few months back.

if you would like i can get your oil shipped from my autozone to your autozone you just need to pick it up in decent qty so i can justify shipping it. PM me for details

and i've talked with the autozone oil buyer and they have decided to keep the castrol syntec 0w-30 around (instead of the orginal plans to discountiue it) you can ask frisky about it all in all i think it went over pretty well.

yep ws6store has it i think after the shipping charge its

49.98

which figures out to be about

8.33 a quart but if you don't have any other avaliable then that might be the best bet.

I have NEVER seen GC 0-30W at Wal-Mart. My local Autozones (both of them) have stopped carrying it. I did however find some a Autozone in Lynchburg.... so I stocked up. I now have enough GC to last for the next 3 oil changes (18 qts). Hopefully the Autozone here will start carrying it again, or like mentioned above, maybe I could have it shipped from a different store

No, cals400ex, the 0w-30 oil is thinner when it is cold not thicker.

ae13291, we use the 0w-30 because we get better oil circulation when the engine is cold. That adds go to less engine ware.

I can find it at my local autozone every now and then, but Ive got to look through all the 0-30's, sometimes i find a couple and sometimes i don't. If you ask them about it they don't know the diff. between German made and American made. So every week when the new shipment comes in i go look.

Your both correct. Being a 0 weight oil means that it flows really well in cold weather, BUT it is also a thicker 30 weight oil (warm characteristics). Just because the bottle says 30 on it doesn't mean that they all have the same viscosity. For example, M1 5w30 tends to run on the thinner side of a 30 weight oil while GC 0w30 tends to be on the thicker side of a 30 weight oil. Besides that GC has a pretty exotic base oil had has very good shear and wear properties. I am by no means an oil expert. May be Patman or Mr. Incredible could help you out more. Also www.bobistheoilguy.com is a great resourse with lots of good information.

It's GREAT stuff (GC), but for that price I'd rather step up to Red Line and get a higher % ester base stock, as well as more moly. (I can get RL for 8.95/qt. AFTER tax, NO shipping.) Besides, RL is one of the few synthetics you can "blend" with their (RL's) other weights, to get exactly what you want. This is due to them NOT using ANY V.I. improvers (except for the Euro 5W-40 stuff) across their entire weight range. High ester content base stocks are cool.
