ok i just quick raced hit the rev limiter for like 2 seconds stock rev at that. and now my oil pressure seems a little lower its at like bewtween the 40 and 20 mark at ideal at like 2k its at 40. is that normal after it heats up most of the time its a little lower then 40 like 38. its 5w30 also oil in it and do for a change in another few hundred miles. let me know

mine does the same, the engine has 114k miles, synthetic oil 5w30.

is that what happends when you race it in the heat. because i see it do it some times but it went a little lower then nomral but it is really hot here today

no, mine does it under normal driving conditions. If it gets lower, I will probably replace the oil pump with a new one (that will be a good time to replace the chain as well).

like it doesnt drop much after a race just like 3 or 4 psi.

think it would help to change the oil. and maybe go with 10w30 from 5w30? since it is pretty hot out right now

wow my oil pressure is weird mine has never dropped below 40 in its life but it runs aroud 80 when it is cold and stays around there for like 20 minites of driving and slowly goes down until it warms. im not sure if my car is messed up or if its normal i guess ill make a thread bout this pretty soon but let me do some research first

I'm starting to wonder about my oil pressure. Mine is around 20 psi at warm idle, sometimes even a little lower. Cruising is between 40 and 50. Cold idle is more like 60.

mine never gets up to 60 unless its getting high up in the rpms but not when idealing what oil do you use like 5w30 10w30 ect?

I just switched from 5W30 to 10W30. As you would expect, the cold idle pressure increased a little, pressure when warm stayed the same.

I use 5w-30 and my pressure is 60psi at idle during warm up and the lowest it reaches when warm at idle is 40psi

yea i use M1 5w30 as well and when its cold its around 80psi at 2,000 rpm in 4th gear i try to keep as low rpms as possible when cold the high oil pressure kinda worries me but this even occurs after my engine has been sitting for an hour or so the engine my be warm but i guess the oil isent!! could also be a oil pressure sending unit im guessing????
