Default Low Trac light during hard braking, but not sliding

When I apply my brakes, sometimes not even hard at all, but usually it has to be a harder than usual stop. My Low Trac light will come on for a few seconds and go off. I am not sliding at all. Obviously its a sensor, but where is it? and how do you replace it?

That just means the abs system detected wheel lockup and engaged the abs. It's perfectly normal. The lockup could have been so brief that you didn't even feel it, maybe you hit a bump as you were braking and one wheel was unweighted enough that it skidded.

I think if TCS is off the Low Trac light will not come on for wheelspin but will still come on for wheel lockup.

Mine started the same way but now does it every time I brake at a normal stop. I asked around and did a search turns up the front wheels have a sensor behind each which are causing this to occur. I was advised to clean them to see if it worked but nothin they still turn the low trac light on. I guess I will have to replace them eventually. There's your problem!

could just be that your tires are worn and lock up easier.... both T/a I have had did that on hard braking nothign to be worried about...

Well, i remember when my Firebird had some bald tires, it would slide, and it was VERY noticeable when it slipped. This does not slip, and the tires have more tread on the front than the ones my Firebird had
