Default SERIOUSLY,...Keep this stuff in your car!!

-The first being the most obvious,... battery cables!
- A Ziplock bag with a single extra of every fuse in the car.
-JB-Weld
-brake cleaner
-flathead
-fillips
-A cheep lil flashlight,
-Tire Patch Kit
-8mm ratchet wrench
-10mm, 13mm, 15mm sockets and ratchet w/ an extention
-mini wire brush
-programer to run quick diagnostics.
-.... and Condoms for that specific emergency!!

.... I'M NOT JOKING!!!! Believe it or not,... I actually fit all this crap in the center console with the exception of the programmer in the glove and brake cleaner and the fuses in the spare tire well.

TRUST ME!!,... having this stuff IN THE CAR can save your *** from having a coranary one day when something goes wrong! If you've ever been stuck out in the sticks 5-10 miles away from the closest 24 hour gas station at 3a.m. in the frig'n morning.... you know what i'm talking about!!

Good list.

This is what I have in my trunk:
  • Emergency Car Kit (includes tow hook, flash light, jumper cables, etc -- Its a red bag that fills the driver's side cubby hole)
  • Tool Kit (with sockets, ratchets, wrenches, screw drivers, etc-- Its a Champion set available at Sears and takes up 3/4 of the floor of the trunk)
  • Jump Pack (This is a great safety item. I don't have to find someone to jump my car and I don't have to connect my car to someone else's when they need a jump.)
  • Folding Utility Knife
  • Folding Torx set
  • Jacket
  • Blanket
  • Car Duster
  • Electrical Tape, Zip Ties, etc

I also have a LED flash light in the glove box and a box of tissues in the cabin.

There isn't much room in my trunk after all that though

I've used the Jump Pack a few times on other peoples cars. It comes in handy. Also, if you want to buy one, make sure it uses a standard power cord to charge it instead of a power brick. I lost the power brick to one and now its battery is dead and useless. If I knew the rating of the original power brick, I'd get another one, but the rating is not listed on the device or in the manual. Jump Packs also tend to come with a Light, 12v Socket, and Air Pump. So right there you get those devices in a self contained powered package. Its a bonus.

I keep a small air compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter, under the drivers seat. Just a little one of those will get you home unless the tire gets a big hole. Mines Craftsman, about 6" by 10". The tool kit should include the Torx driver that takes off the side lights. I keep one in the glove box with a couple of those bulbs. Got a big bath towel wrapped around a 4 way lug wrench in the spare tire compartment. The stock lug wrench that comes with the jack will strip out on a stubborn nut. The towel is to keep the 4 way from rattling and has many other possible uses. The small space between the 12 disc CD changer and the fender well keeps that all important Zip Lock with the micro fiber towels and detail spray.

What about the belts? Wouldn't it be good idea to get a spare set of belts? I was actually going over my list today too. Similar to everybody's.

I keep a dead body in the trunk, a few grams of crack and a joint in the center console. You just never know when you'll get your chance to be on COPS and you really need to be prepaired!

Most people should spend enough time under their hood and see the belt wearing away. One of those things on our cars that we should always keep our eyes on.
