Default Front end rebuild

I'm in the process of replace all the bushings in my 00 TA. Is it okay to drive afterwards (I know the alignment will be off) to the alignment shop? It's about a 15 mile drive?

Well if you have it aligned pretty close it won't do much, but of course its not recommended. Play with the tie rod ends and a measuring tape to get the toe pretty close.

Thanks.

On another note, while removing and installing the bolt on the front lca I managed to tear the dust boot on the steering (not exactly sure how to explain it). Now there is a little power steering leaking from there. How do I fix this?

Also on first drive I hear a strange noise from the front driverside tire. Check and it's coming from the brakes. Pull apart and see that one of the boots on the caliper is torn and now the pistons will not line up correctly.

If it aint one thing it's another. Had to rant a little. But seriously how to you fix the dust boot on the steering rods?

I found a rack and pinion boot kit at Autozone for $24.00. Are any special tools needed?

Hate to tell you but it was always leaking. Your inner tie rod seal has had it. The boot was just containing the damage - until you ripped it open.

I've read that the inner tie rods just unscrew, but I'm unaware of what seals may be in there. I sent my rack out to be rebuilt 2 weeks ago and put it back in yesterday.

Oh well, time for a new rack and pinion. O'reilly's has them for 179.99 after core. My uncle works at a local shop and he told me under $250.00 for install, alignment and flushing the system.

I didn't know I was going to be rebuilding the whole damn front end when this started.
