Thanks for the link. Carbon and Metallic, interesting.
So far my brakes are working good, no sqeaks or dust but I haven't had
them very long. I certainly will do some research on PRC.

AZ **** sucks, period. If you plan on keeping this car, use a GM pump. If you actually make a half *** decent living, consider getting a dealer to do the pump. Lifetime warranty, parts and labor, and you get a good part.
Let me give you a clue. Use the AZ part with the lifetime warranty, you WILL use it at a shitty time.
You need to ask yourself two questions:
1. What is your time worth? (if you don't know, hit up a high school math student)
2. Do you enjoy wrenching on your car enough to offset the downtime caused by question 1?
Balance 1 and 2 and see how you come out. I KNOW AZ pumps suck ***. But if you want to pass your **** parts on to the next guy ot to yourself at the worst possible time, go for it.
No matter who does the work, use either:
1. GM pump (comes with t-stat) and NEW hoses = for a driver
2. An EWP for a race car
Anything else is stupid, IMHO.
Have fun!

That certainly was an interesting post.

I'll have to keep the Duralast for now as I'm getting my parts together
for a head/cam swap. I just recently did brakes, tires, wheels, koni's,
springs, strano sway bars, new bushing for the rear control arms, etc etc...

Here you can see some of the major changes pertaining to AC Delco
inaddition to a little history.

Just because a part is labeled AC Delco and comes in a fancy box
does not mean it's necessarily a quality part.

The Mr Gasket 160 thermostat autozone sells won't work on a factory sytle LS1 water pump. I went with the valucraft 160.
http://www.autozone.com/R,APP85100/v...ductDetail.htm
At $32, it's working great in my car and it's half the price of the Hypertech and I don't see any difference.

That's the way I felt about the Duralast Ceramic break pads made
here in the good ol USA by Morse. I can't see how the Hawk Ceramic pads
are any better. Plus they cost twice as much.

I'm all for using AC delco parts on all the F-bods and Vettes I've had...but this time I didn't see it necessary, Just for ***** and giggles I called the local Pontiac place $395 just for the pump and about another $350 for labor=NEARLY $600 I saved by going with a new autozone **** pump and doing the work myself. Call me stupid.
That's fricken ridiculous to pay that much for dealer parts and labor.
