Could be one or both of the calipers are locked up.

If the piston is frozen, then you need to rebuild them or go and buy rebuilt calipers.

Well, you are going to have to pull the wheels and see whats going on there. Is sure sounds like the calipers are binding. Did you clean and re-grease the caliper pins?

Thumbs down rusty!!!!!!

some times they work fine but when you push them back in they are rusted up , the wall of the pistons that is and usually because the rubber boot is damaged water salt etc, time for new ones.

I just put new pads on my daily driver and had the same problem, I had neglected to clean and re-grease the slides. One was completely seized, wouldn't move at all. Took them all apart and greased them up with caliper grease, put it back together and all is well.

I would jack your car up and make sure you can spin every wheel freely. When I did my brakes my caliper sliding pins were seized up as well and some wheels were hard to turn so it felt like the brakes were being applied.

if they are both locking up, it's likely that it's something further upstream that actuates both. The chances of both calipers going out the same at the same time is slim. I would guess the master cyl. or booster, but I'm really no expert on this brake system yet, but just thinking logically. How do you know they are both staying locked. Did you jack them up and spin them both or check both for being hot or what? It's wierd anyway that both would fail the same at the same time and not be caused further upstream.

$10 says you didn't grease the slide pins. PayPal preferred...

You are correct, it would be very unlikely that both calipers would go bad at the very same time. It could be the master cylinder piston has seized up or the compensator is obstructed. It could also be the brake pedal rod needs to be adjusted. However, since everything was fine prior to doing the new brakes I would double check my work there, and check the calipers first, before moving on to other reasons.
