Stearing Wheel Shaking
I have a 2002 TA, mods in sig.
As of yesterday my steering wheel is shaking at high speeds, even when Im slowing down.
I know it has nothing to do with the mods, and I just had an alignment done last month.
Id like to get some info here before taking it in.
Thx.

Thing is I just bought a set of 4 new tires last month the same day they did the alignment.
Even though the tires are new do any of you still think it could be the tires?

sounds like a balancing issue to me. as mentioned above check for cupping in the inside of the tires as well. when you say slowing down, do you mean from like a freeway speed to a dead stop you feel the shaking? or do you mean like a freeway speed and then it goes away like lets say around 45 or so?

Check tire wear and ask the shop that did the work to recheck the balance on the tires. An out of balance tire is the most common cause of that highway speed shimmy, followed by cupped tire wear or slightly bent wheels. It is highly likely that a wheel weight, which is used to balance the tire/wheel assembly, has fallen off. I am a service manager at a retail tire store and it happens and the shop that mounted them should offer to recheck the balance at no charge.

Well, it did turn out to be a balancing issue. Luckily with the purchase of my new tires they said I get a lifetime of free balancing.
Im going in this Wed. to get it done.
