Shavings in oil filter.
How much shaving in an oil filter is ok? or normal.
Its an lt1 the oil pressure looked fine. But i cut open the filter and inspected it. There are quite a few shinny fragments that are on every crease in the filter normally near the top or bottom edges.

Thats not natural is it? The plus side is the filter is doing it's job but. To prove if the filter is doing it's job pull the oil pan. Does this car set for long periods of time?
Jakes Dad
p.s. An engine self distructing is hard to identify. Surely if you sold the car or traded it, to those dealers you can't trust, you would inform the person or dealer what you recently found, right?
