SLAYERIZED6: Did you have to modify anything, or did it fit right in?? I need to get new motor's for my window's. Driverside is dying down on me, and passenger side is slow.

BTW, this is the Shoebox guide:

http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html

But diagnose the problem before you buy a new motor, if it does nothing at all start by checking for voltage at the motor, then check fuses, wiring etc.

I got my motors off ebay, $45 for two so I have a spare

Driver side was dead when I bought the car, passenger one still works. Thought that was odd since the passenger is usually first to go.

I did the motor the hard way "to the book" before I knew of the shoebox guide. Argh, a royal pain, still not quite aligned right. That shoebox guide looks like a piece of cake.

I remember who you are now. We talked when I was putting air in the tires before leaving.

Do it yourself. You'll learn something and smile every time you open/close your window knowing you fixed it.

Drill the holes so you can see / access whats back there. I found my little mirror on a stick pretty helpful too.

I think out of everything, getting the damn door lock slider thing back in was harder than anything!

Has anyone had there auto zone window motors seem to not have a tight fit at the top of the window?

Which motors do the dealership us?
Autozone motors here... no issues. If anything, the motor itself is underpowered for such a large / heavy piece of glass. Heck, even after the new motors went in, I still think the windows are slow. Hey, maybe we can come up with a window motor mod and cut thjat up and down time?? lol

And I'm not talking about saving tenths... we need to save seconds here! ha

That is exactly what I was gonna say! There is a trick to popping it back on. Just put everything back together and slide the slider in thru the front of the opening and use the door handle plate to pop the slider arm in. Make sure the arm is in unlocked position. no fuss, no fighting. You just have to stop and think. They are not gonna make it a pain in the *** on the assembly line.

Use a rivet gun instead of the bolts they give you, if you have access to one that is

Hey man.. if you want, you can drive it up here. I'll do it for the low low price of watching you drive up here to get the motor done.

I got my window motor from Autozone for $57 w/lifetime warranty. It took me about 1hr 30min to get it done. It's real easy, just follow the Shoebox instructions.
