I noticed a difference when I changed my plugs and wires. I went with NGK TR55's and MSD wires. If you go to a part store and ask for the NGK plugs they will not give you the ones that people on here recomend. The NGK part number they recomend is 3951. The only downside to the TR55 plugs is that you have to change them more often. Say every 30k or so. I've had good luck with mine so far but it has only been a few days. Have you changed the plugs on an LS1 before?

The standard trillion times given answer is yes, NGK TR-55s (3951), and you CANNOT go wrong with those (except for the afforementioned having to change them more often) for a stock/low mod/bolt on car.
But, if you do not feel like becoming a contorsionist who had a run in with a wolverine for a whole afternoon that often, you could go for the NGK TR-55 IXes (Iridium) or the AC Delco Iridiums (basically the same thing as the NGKs) but you will pay MUCH more for them.
Some have claimed a better idle, as well as less high rev misfires with these, but who knows??
In any case they should last > 2x as long as the copper TR-55s, given the rest of the engines systems are functioning properly.
Again these are for stock/low mod/bolt on LSxes ONLY!!

If you go iridiums (which is what I run), you want the TR-5IX not the TR-55IX.

Difference is the gap. Our cars came stock with plantinum plugs gapped at .060" A few years back, GM switched to iridiums and changed the recommended gap to .040" The TR-55 (whether iridiums or copper) are the .060" gap. The TR-5 is the recommended .040" gap. Keep in mind that while you can change the gap on a copper plug, you cannot (or are strongly discouraged from doing so) on an iridium.
