Re: Mobil 1 Question
A good oil to use all year round would be Amsoil 5w30, Redline 5w30, or the new German made Castrol Syntec 0w30. All three of these oils are very thick 30wt oils, almost being 40wt, but all three of these oils also have excellent cold weather abilities and could handle the coldest temperatures you'll ever see (especially the German 0w30 which has a pour point of -81F!).

I wouldn't add that oil stabilizer to any oil. Just run 100% 0w40, it'll work fine on it's own and needs no help. That Lucas stuff just thickens your oil.

I am not sure what oil I should run in my 2001 Z28. Some say the Mobil 1 5w-30, others say that is to thin. Would Mobil 1 5w-40 be good? I'm in Southern California so it's pretty warm. High today so far is 89 degrees.
I made a thread asking about oil here...
