Power problem and noise from the rear?
Power problem and noise from the rear? Well I just noticed a sound coming from the rear of the my car (not the 10bolt) I thought it was a flat tire because it sort of sounded like air being released. Its a noise that sort of sounds like when you take out the air of a balloon and stretch the tip...lol.. But the noise does not start when I turn the car on, it start after I have driven the car for awhile and it seems to get louder.. when I stop the car and put it on park it still there..... The sound cuts off as soon as I turn the car off... and I have also notice power loss.. I try to launch from 60mph and I get no power and the car sort of jerks foward struggling to move than procceds to go foward .... Any ideas of what the problem might be thanks.. sorry for the long description
is it more of a whine? could be the carrier bearing(do these cars have these in the rear im not 100% sure), could also be a problem with the tranny. can you pinpoint the noise like how far back it is on the car. if anything put it on a lift turn it on and put it in drive(auto) or have a buddy shift it and hold the brake for resistance and try to listen for it.
a few guys tell me it might be my fuel pump.... and some tell me it might be my shocks..the noise kinda sounds like a supercharger whine... i notice that the sound sort of fades when i make sharp turns and when i hit some DIP's .... and today i can confirm that my car did lose some of its torque or power because U tried to launch it from 60mph again and all i get is a small jerk and than slow acceleration.. not the usual 60mph launch where my car sort of feels like it lifts and pulls very nice..i think a honda can beat me now..lol

I can't understand how those symptoms you described could be a shock. I've never heard of a shock making a noise like that. Like I said before, it sounds like the fuel pump but I could be wrong.

Verdad Gallardo ok I dont know how but the noise is gone and I didnt do anything.. the power seems to be working the same but not sure if its back to the original state... any ideas why the car is better now?
