Default 98 Z28 idle issues!!

I need help fixing my idle, everyday I start the car especially the morning, the car struggles to keep an idle. The car wont die but the rpm's go up and down for a minute before it idles normal. I got my car tuned, didnt work, they told me I had a misfire, so i change the wires, and plugs, 02 sensors and didnt work. I check for vacums but i dont see one. So what could be the problem.

Do you have good battery voltage/connections? Sounds like it might be relearning idle. Just something to check. No codes right?

battery connection is good, no codes, the only thing I can think right now may be a intake leak, but how would you check if you got a vacuum leak?

Does it start normally or take a while to crank? My V6 cranks for longer than normal then tends to do what you are describing, plus it smells like gas when it first starts. I haven't figured out why yet. It does it after sitting for a little while. Occasionally it starts right up like it should and doesn't smell bad.

Something to try with the idle bobbing, when it starts push the gas a tiny bit to give a slight rev for a second or two to see if it smooths out and then let off and see if it drops to normal. I found I can get the idle under control quickly that way if it doesn't fix itself within a couple seconds.

Have you swapped the intake? If not, it's most likely not leaking.

Do a compression check.

I had a car with a fairly bad missfire, I replaced all the ignition components then the injectors. Six months later I did a compression check to find the one cylinder had only about 65 PSI.

Your problem sounds like leaking injectors.

To the OP, it kinda sounds like your PCM is trying to relearn some parameters, don't know why though.

But it has done this between two motors now, each with its own set of injectors

Could the OP's issue be a weak battery perhaps?

I did replace the intake with an ls6 unit, and mu battery is new, it does take just a little bit than normal to crank.

I had idle issues. At first it was the Coolant Temp Sensor. When i put the new one on it was better. Then after that i had Idle/Stumbling issues. Turned out to be problems with the intake. Make sure everything is secured and tight. Clean your TB, MAF, and idle control sensor. Throttle Body with Seafoam Deep Creep- MAF and Idle control valve with MAF Cleaner.
