just replaced my plugs for the first time
man is it a pain in the ***. i went from a 98 prelude which maintenance was easy now i got my 99 z28 and it was a bish lol. luckily my a/c isnt working atm so i could remove the ac lines on the pass side to help a little bit. of course the back passenger side was the worst but all in all it only took me like 2 hours and 15 minutes.

good job man, I just replaced my first set myself today and got done around 2 1/2 hours. Definitely #8 is bad but it was really easy removing this from the bottom. My problem was the wires being stuck on their so tight more than the plugs.

it took me like an hour and a quarter my first time. two hours including the time to get a second eighth spark plug after dropping one and having the ceramic portion crack.
for #8, you should just pull the coil packs... plenty of room then, even for me... i have chubby arms and hands, and short arms too.
and i can still not figure out how you reach #8 from the bottom... maybe i just missed the smart boat, but i can't find a way up to that area of the engine from underneath.

i got it from the bottom.....i put the socket on with the extension from the top and then popped in the ratchet. the ratchet was hanging down towaqrds the bottom so then i had to jack up the side of my car to be able to get underneath it. the plug was way toio tight with the little bit of room i had so i put a wrench on the end of the ratchet and it broke free

When I pulled my OEM plugs at 65k they still looked fairly new and clean.
I just wanted to see what they looked like, and why not replace them if they are already pulled out of the motor.

How I managed to do it.
I know what you mean about them being too tight.
I still managed to do it... I pulled the very end of my socket about 4 feet. lol...
here's a pic of how i did it.
I still never managed to find a way to get to it from bottom. but if that works for you guys, great, keep at it. My giant-bar method shouldn't be necessary any more since i change plugs regularly and use anti-seize.

I just replaced mine on Friday in about an hour. Only tools I had were a ratchet, spark plug socket, 3 in extension and a 10mm wrench. I got number 8 from the top by taking off the coils. I just used the socket and ratchet with no extension.

I'll probably change the plugs sometime this week.

You think thats bad,
Try changing plugs on a LT1 with all the accessories still in....
