I had thid type of squeak start and get worse on me earlier this year. My spring is new a year ago, and still in tact. We ended up lubing 'ALL' the moving joint points under the dash related to the pedal. There is one point high up in the dash, easy to miss. It made a huge improvment in my pedel noise.
