Default Strange rattle?

So I recently bought a 2001 z28 with about 74k miles on it. I've had it for a few days and I've started to notice a slight rattle that seems like it is coming from underneath where the driver's seat is. So my dad and I put the car up and could not really find any real cause..even after some old fashioned tugging on parts to see whats loose haha. We did find 3 small metal lines attached to to what appear to be hoses running along near the exhaust system with a heat shield protecting them from the exhaust pipes. We believe these may be rattling against each other. But any suggestions would help. I can try to have pictures up tomorrow of what we think it may be.

I am new to newer Camaros. We have an 88 that is a dream to work on. But I'm not used to all this fancy new stuff haha

try checking the heat shield itself for any contact with the body. and if you have a rubber mallet try tapping around the area you suspect the noise is coming from and see if you can get it to act up that way. also try cheking exhaust hangers as well. hope this helps a bit.

My z28 makes so many damn taps and pops. But, who cares really? Have you heard a truly quite Camaro? I have not heard one or owned one.

If it is serious enough, beat on some stuff under the car untill you notice it. Then see what you can ghetto rig to make it stop.

Mine rattles, drives me nuts sometimes. Not as bad as the squeaky brakes though.

Probably is a heat shield, many cars have those get a little loose and rattle as they get older and more miles on them.

yeah i have the same **** also, only really does it when its hot out and im going up hill have checked heat shields a million times just sucks

And the only times i can really see under the car is when its getting an oil change up on the lift so thats when im always looking for the noise , sure it pisses the guys at the shop off but oh well.

the cats or heat shields are likely causes. Also check the exhaust piping/cats around the cross-brace underneath the driveshaft. If it's close enough it'll knock...
