Default How to remove wipers arms from F-body??

Ok so I am replacing the wiper motor and digital electronic control board - 99 Camaro.

Apparently, the black plastic wiper drain cowl cover under the windshield needs to come off the car. To do this, you must remove the windshield wiper arms (right and left).

I lifted the black wiper arm lids and removed the 12mm nuts. I thought I could then gently pull off the arms but they won;t budge.

I sprayed them with liquid wrench this AM so I'll try again tonight.

Is there a trick to this; I don;t want to crack the windshield!

Try grabbing onto the wiper arms with one hand and on the part where the bolt is with the other and rocking it on the splined stud.

If that doesn't work hit the auto parts store and find a SMALL puller that will fit the wipers.

You need a puller, if they have never been off.

Yeah, don't try prying them off or you will crack the windsheild gauranteed.

you could try using a top post terminal puller in the battery section at autozone to keep the cost down. it is a two jaw puller

Any small puller will work. Just be very careful realizing that the windshield won't take much pressure before it breaks.

I lightly tapped the side of the wiper arm a couple times with a wrench, then the other side, then kept going side to side till it started to rock, then it came right off. Mine were on for like 8 years.
