Hi guys. One question I have my 98 TA for almost a year now. I have noticed that I don't get any warning when my fuel is low. The check gauge light works fine. Can anyone confirm if the check gauges light should come on when my fuel is low? If it is any idea on where to start checking for a problem. Thanks.

Could there be a difference between the different years?

I'm positive mine comes on when I'm low on fuel. The gauge pretty much hits rock bottom before it comes on though.

They all come on when your guage hits empty, but you usually get at least another gallon or 2 even when it reads empty. If the fuel sending unit was replaced in the past its possible it wasnt wired up right

I've never had the check gauges light come on when I was low on fuel, but maybe it has to be on E for a while first. FWIW, running that low on fuel is bad for your fuel pump, as it is cooled by fuel.

I think it should come on, but why do you really need it? Is it too hard to look at the needle? I dont know if mine works or not, because I dont normally let it get below 1/4 tank if at all possible.

98 cars check gauges light DO NOT come on when fuel is low. I've run to my last gallon to verify that.

00 ws6. my check gauges light comes on miles before my my low fuel light.

lights based on how much fuel ive used:

check gauges ~ 13 gallons
low fuel - 14+ gallons

wtf? you have a low fuel light?

i think 98 still had the old 15.5 gallon tank, so they probably had the check gauges light feature with the new tank in 99.
