My horns not working!! Help!
#7
There is a horn pin that ties into the horn contactor. The horn contactor sits under the locking ring and the horn pin ties into a plastic stud that comes up through the locking ring and through the yellow inner part of the CW.
I would test the horns directly off the battery first. Horns are like 7 dollars at O'Reily's for the exact same FIAMM horn as stock.
Also, multimeter the horn connector while someone is pressing on the button.

Mine goes out periodically. It's because it's under the passenger headlight and is gets wet. I just pull it off and put it back on and it works. I'm gunna go get some of that bulb grease to put on the horn that gets wet.

sounds more like the horn itself rather than the horn switch in the steering wheel. i would slave in a new one to see if that fixes it. or bust out a multi meter and see if you are getting voltage at the horn. check the ground too

i have a problem with my horn that i would like to run by you guys.
it is a 99 camaro.
my high tone horn has always worked the entire time that i have owned the car.
my low tone horn has worked two times in the 5+ years that i have owned the car. the first time was in 2007 after i replaced/bolted the new low tone horn to the car, and put the two wires to it. it worked so i bolted everything back up. from that point on it never worked again, just the high tone horn.
fast forward to last night at about midnight. i am under the car and see the horns and remember my issue. so i get to the horns and see that one of the wires came off. i put the wire back on and come back the next day to test it out. same thing as before. i test my horn and the first time that i press it both work, but then right after that it goes right back to the high tone only.
i took the relay, 50 fuse and 20 fuse to autozone for them to test it. they all came back fine.
why do you think that my horn is not working?
is it something in the steering wheel?
can anyone post a picture of what their horn set up looks like so i can compare with mine? i am a visual learner and seeing what the setup should look like is very helpful for me.
thanks,
jdoyle

Aren't there two "pitches" of horn on these cars? Mine has always sounded soooooo pathetic and I thought maybe it was due to one of the horns being out.... Unless there's only one and then I'm stuck with a lame sounding horn.
