Default P0135 questions. please stop in if you've had this code

P0135 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1

This is a common code after a header install. It comes back after you delete it i see. Sometimes the car missfires and sometimes the converter won't lock. Then a new issue today...the cruise control wouldn't work.

As soon as i delete the code, all my problems go away. How do i permanently fix this? tune it out?

Did you have to install O2 bungs or were they already in the headers?? Well what kind are they as well?? That code means the tip of the O2 is not getting hot enough to register a true reading to the PCM...

You can't tune that one out because it's used for fueling. The rear yes but not the fronts. I have had that code also in the past on my ta and vette. I just replaced the sensor and all was good on both cars.

I agree.
Same thing happened to me. I just replaced them w/ new sensors and it went away. Afterwards, I did weld the exhaust to the headers though to eliminate all leaks though. hope this helps.
