Home TB porting how to's?
I am wantting to try and self port my TB tomorrow but I did a search and couldnt find a post that explained how to do it. Can any one give me some how to's or tips on how to do this the right way? And is there a high risk of screwing up my idle from this mod?
TIA, justin

Here's my tip for not screwing up idle:
Before disassembly, mark the TB seating circle
with a permanent marker (Sharpie). Then, after
disassembly, put a couple of layers of masking
tape that cover the mark. This will give you
maybe 1/8" of protected throat. Then while you
are happily hogging out aluminum, if you stay
off the tape you are fine, and if you slip one
time the tape gets it, not the TB.
That, and be real careful with any epoxy so as
not to mess up the IAT plunger seat.

If you do the epoxy fill in thing, make sure you put big enough holes in there for the PCV and IAC. If the IAC hole is too small, it can cause poor idle. If you have a cam too small of a hole for the IAC can cause REALLY poor idle.
