You will need a long breaker bar and then a pipe over that and yer still gonna have to pull like hell, be sure yer pullin' in the right direction-thats a big plus as well...

I had it in park when I tried it. I will use a breaker bar when I try it again today also I will put in gear.

Thanks,
Matt

a weak impact will not get it off...you need to have an expensive one with a **** ton of torque...had the same problem...be careful putting a screw driver in the flexplate because you can break off a tooth...

if you dont want to stick a screwdriver in your flex plate, you can get a flywheel lock to keep it from turning

i used a heavy duty impact gun from craftsman, it took a couple of good hits and the bolt came right off. i also used the impact to get the new pulley back on, but at the lowest setting once i got the bolt started

I used my craftsman impact gun that came as a kit with my air compressor. Took quite a few hits, but eventually came loose. If that doesn't work just follow everyone elses tip of a breaker bar and a long pipe.

I wouldn't recommend the screwdriver in the flywheel trick. If you break a tooth off the flywheel or break the screwdriver off in there you are screwed, and both have happened. Summit sells a tool to lock the balancer/crank from spinning from the front. I used this with a long breaker bar and 4' pipe.
