Any place with an electronic engraver can do a plate like that, you just need to given them the dimensions and lay-out. Then just drill out your holes for the switches and lights. Just google custom engraving, or heck there might even be a place in your local mall that does it.

SPST switch from radio shack
tap the blue wire run it to your switch,
get a black wire run it to the switch on the other pole and ground the wire.
thats it

What kind of switch did you get?

Dual Pole Dual Throw DPDT switch with lights
or
Single Pole Dual Throw SPDT switch to run with no lights

my switch is s SPDT, (sub mini size)
I installed the switch just to the left of the ash tray under the cover
and grounded to one of the bolts for the shifter

I have a couple spares PM me if you want to buy one,
if you want it wired i can do that for a little extra

in the process as we speak, ran into a problem. How do I connect the wires to the LED? May seem dumb but I'm unsure of the best way.. Also can I use the cig lighter ground since I'm using it for power?

With a SPDT you cannot,
with a DPDT you can
diagram to show you the connections

I would do a direct ground not the cig lighter ground and solder is the best

but to physically connect the wires to the LED is what I was getting at. Doesn't matter I've changed my mind on those. Can I do the connection NO LEDS, on a DPDT switch? Would it be connected the same way? just without the LED's

the first one i did was a DPDT switch, w/o led's as i recall (5yrs ago)
i had to put in a couple jumper wires to tie the DP's together for it to work
if your at all close to a raido shack, for the $5 id just get the SPDT switch

and as for the LED's
i put the led tails in the end of the wire and used solder to secure

too bad your not closer i'd help you out, but im just east of KC

How far east? I'll be up in KC and Olathe in about 5-6 weeks . Say I went with the SPDT switch, which wires go to which? and If I went with the DPDT no LED, what would I have to jump? I went to Radio shack earlier to get the DPDT, LED's, resistors, and connectors. After an hour and a half gave up and decided to start putting in my new MGW STS and new window motor
I figured I'll continue it tomorrow since all the hard work of running all the wires is done, almost broke my PCM thou Then decided to just do the wire thru the grommet to run it from inside to the engine bay instead of reverse MUCH!! easier

Wish I would have thought about soldering, I got a new solder gun just asking for use

Im in independence 3 miles north of i-70 and 7hwy.... if you have the green and blue tapped under the hood then you just need to attach them to the switch... check the schematic of the switch on the side.

Been there, might just have to meet up when I'm up that way. So the schematics will make it idiot proof? Still doesn't sound like the safest bet with me in the mix, lol. I'll see what I can figure out on my own when I pick one up tomorrow

Right on, probably just do the SPDT for now. DPDT if I'm up there and you have time

Sot this is the SPDT switch I got, no real schematics on the side. So which wires to where?
Fan switch mod write-up-spdt.jpg
Went ahead and bought solder, so may just choose to do the DPDT, but just in case. Also, by shifter bolts, you mean the ones on your stick? Because my new MGW doesn't have any and I'll have to go a different route. Thought about doing it on my air bag sensor. Any other ideas?

Ok, I'm no electrician, but with a DPDT click to one side of "on" is low fans, click to the other side of "on" is high fans?

yes, or reverse the side with only 1 ground and you've got a "medium" fan. It will work the high fan without the low fan, I figured that out playing around with it about an hour ago.
