Well there you have it, I doubt it's going to fit on any factory vehicle that came with an ls1 due to either the height in the rear, or the height of the throttle body.

It's a shame, because it looks like it might perform well and have the good reputation that Edelbrock has for QC.

I wonder if it's possible to port that thing and run a 92mm TB on it

I have a cowl hood but dude, the entire plenum is a problem. It will never clear the cowl. Even at the rear of the intake, the plenum is the same height. Way too tall.

As of this afternoon, Edelbrock is conducting "product evaluation" on the LS-XT intake. In other words they're checking to make sure the castings are defect free and that the machining is following the blueprints they specd. It will take a week or two for this process I'm told. I honestly don't anticipate this manifold to be in high volume production for at least another 6-8 weeks. Just my guess, and I hope I'm wrong but that's the impression I get. They only have one chance to get it right for "the first time release" of this new part. I believe they're doing their typical high quality QC so there aren't any "suprises" after it is released.

i completely misread someone else's post to say that the only thing stopping it from working was the TB.

I think it won't even fit an impala ss hood but I hope it don't so I can have a reason to get a cowl lol. Hopefully someone gets this intake and the victor jr and tests them.

I was told they did not intend for this intake to be used on late model cars. As far as I know it doesn't have a EO number. I believe the intention for this was for the retrofit and offroad market.

please remember that there alot more cars out there that will be retrofitted with LSX power- alot more than all the late model F-bodys that were ever produced. I know I'm still interested in one. FWIW

It should fit trucks, and possibly the GTO with a cowl hood and no strut brace.

I do believe they had more of the retrofit guys in mind.

I wouldn't be suprised to see a LSX crate motor from Edlbrock sporting it either.

I'm thinkin' it would look good on my Silverado, just have to see how it does down low first. It may kill too much low end for a tow vehicle though.

Yep. And another plus is that it looks like it will work with 5.3 truck accessories. That's a big plus for me, as my '69 Camaro has a 5.3L truck motor and my options for a "pretty" intake are fairly limited without changing the accessories.

You are probably not the kind of guy they want to sell it to anyways.

Why do they have to think of the fbody with every thing they sell? Go buy the fast or a ls6 intake, They are great.

I am running the 6.0 intake on my Nova , This will replace it when it is released. I will keep the fast on my Trans AM
