Ya its basically designed for people with race cars. No way it will fit under the hood of my stock/bolton F-body. It would be in high demand if it was designed to fit under a regular car.

if you want to see if it fits your car just go get a truck intake. this thing looks to be based off that. maybe not as wide up top but height and TB location seem similar. It's tall but looks totally bad *** under the hood

the critical part is the front, because the motor tilts backwards it raises the front up. Your elbow swoops down as it goes forward

i dont happen to have a truck intake sitting around to compare to. However, since you already have the edelbrock intake mounted on your motor, would you please measure the intake for us? From the top to bottom (top of intake to valley), front to back (on the top of the plenum).

if you would do that for us, it would be a big help and i personally thank you.

pitbull, yes it is on a 2006 GTO.

Dman, You make a good point. my elbow goes down in the front. If this intake goes straight, which it appears to, i am not sure if it would fit. Hence the reason many of us need a measurement. I would need one to know whether it would fit my car.

I am not in the market for one, as i hope to be installing a maggie soon. However, i ask for my fellow goat nuts (nyuk nyuk, double meaning) who are interested in this intake.

i must say, its a damn shame edelbrock didnt try to design this intake with a bit less height. a way it could be doen would be to have the runners enter into the top of the plenum as opposed to the bottom. they could have had the runners go up and arch back downward (kinda looking like a candy cane, just no as much of a bend) to enter the plenum on the top of the plenum aiming downward. This would have saved alot of height, and actually made for longer runners.

To give you all a visual idea of what i mean, i called upon my amazing computer graphics abilities, knowledge of CAD design, and brilliant artistic abilities to bring you a depiction of what i mean. This intake wouldnt havew the clearance issues, it would still have the same size plenum, and it may even lengthen the runners slightly. As for the slight bend in the runners (no longer a straight shot), i dont think that small of a turn will make much of a difference.

You just asked 5 million air molecules to make a 90 degree turn. I'm going to have to disagree, it would make a difference!

If the preliminary results are true it looks like you'd gain 20 lbft, and wouldn't have to wait till 6800 rpm to see the extra hp over stock.

How much shipped with fuel rails?

Why'd you put a stock LS1 TB on the front of it? What about if you cut the cowl on an F body. Will it still fit? This is all I need to know. I'll cut some sheet metal in a second if I can get this to fit.

edit: I have a sunoco hood.

i measured my cowl and it looked as if the intake would clear , but the strut brace will not clear , it would need to be removed

as for clearance at the front/tb im not sure , i was planning on a cowl hood , so that would give me extra clearance

also as you can see from the pics the tb does point down some
