i just bought my car a few weeks ago and it already had a volant cai on it and personally i think it looks kind of cool! i havent raced another ss yet but im sure its pretty much the same as a lid performance wise but i think it gives it a little personal touch? and you can hear that thing sucking air when you get on it!

I don't like them, They are huge and IMO look like crap. Just takes away from the engine bay. Lids just look a lot cleaner

Need a damn ladder to see over that thing! (sarcastic)

what about the diameter of the volant verus a lid. lets say a 85mm lid, is the volant inlet where it connects to the maf 85mm also or is it smaller like stock? if its stock size then wouldn't the 85mm lid be better, performance wise?

My GF just bought me a new volant yesterday for $246 shipped... can't wait till it gets here.... however, for the guys looking into lids... if I were to get one, I'd probably get the new Fast Toys lid... I've seen it in person and the quality seemed to be on the upper end as compared to some of the other lids I've seen and better than my current TSP lid, of which I've had to epoxy the upper and lower portions back together a few times already because of cracking

We don't sell the Volants but I would "think" that outlet size would be the same as the STOCK MAF.

the MAF actually fits "into" the volant... so yes, it's the stock size...

im going to go with the volant also on my ss the main reason is for the seal on the filter you dont have to worry about the lid not sealing on the filter.. i guess engine life is a lil more important to me than 1 hp
