Default Question for the guys with the volant... PICS INSIDE!!!

Hey guys... I just recieved my new volant intake today. It looks awesome, I can't wait to install it. I've pretty much assembled the whole thing, I'm just a little confused on what to do with the small little filter it came with. I'm pretty sure it's for the smog pump or some sort of A.I.R. connection. Only problem is, I've done away with both those parts on my car a while back. So what am I supposed to do with the hole in the side of the box? what is everyone else doing with this part that don't have any emission hook-ups? I guess I should try and see if I can find some sort of grommet for it... where would be the best place to find some? Autozone, home depot would be my first two guesses... it's late and everything is closed, so I'll have to do some searching tomorrow...

thanks for your help guys

P.S. I've got some great pics coming... but the USB cord for my camera is at my work DOH! So I have no way of downloading them to the computer...

on a side note... I hope I won't run into problems installing this with the Be Cool Radiator I have...

EDIT: PICS BELOW... SCROLL DOWN

I got a rubber cap that fits the end of the little air filter and stuck it on. I've meant to look around for a flush grommet, but I've just not gotten around to it.

A plastic plug will do if all you want to do is plug the hole.

oh hey bro! Now I can stop whoring your pictures around... I finally got it so...

I got this dome shaped looking plug... but not sure where it goes. It doesn't seem to fit into anything...

That's funny! It got to a point I'd not post any pics 'cause I knew you'd be all over it.

Got the ole' mothers polish out... the one on the left is polished and the right is unpolished...

This first pic is pretty much the parts I'm confused about... I apparently don't need the little tube and the filter... but whats up with the little dome shaped plug? it doesn't fit anywhere...

huh? I don't recall every saying anything good about lids... I got sick of the fitment/sealing issues.... if it wasn't sealing it was cracking or vise versa... the volant will get rid of those issues. I am a little worried about how the install will go, just because of my larger radiator. But we will see... I won't be able to install it till some time next week because I've got a ton of finals I'm working on for school right now... Once Wednesday comes around I'll be wrenching on her... and get some more pics too...

yea tried that... the shaft part of the dome fits in the hole (wow that sounded wrong ) but there is nothing to hold it in place... unless I glued it or something... I'm probably just gonna go to autozone and see what they have. But was curious what the other guys with this intake did...

On a side note, are you willing to sell your stock air filter base? I really need one. I sent you a PM the other day.. Guess you didn't get it.

Thanks

hey man... ya know, I don't think i'm gonna sell it. I'm not even totally sure if this volant will fit yet with my larger radiator. Not to mention I like to hang on to a lot of my parts so if I ever need them in the future. If I do decide to sell it, I'll give you first dibs though...
