Default What are some consequences of Exhaust leaks

I just got my car back on the road after it being repaired for a month for hitting a real bad pothole. The damage was only to the lower control arm and wheels nothing else. The problem is the last couple days that I have been driving it, it has been driving rough, less responsive on the throttle, and now smoke. I had exahausts from my header install before this but it did not seem this bad. There was also no smoke. Do exhaust leaks usually cause smoke or anything like that? Or is the car just going through a small cycle after sitting for so long. I have been driving it about 3 days

Valve guides can cause smoke after a vehicle sits for an extended period of time. And sometimes the will cause it at every start up.

i got bad leaks on my daily driver and it doesnt smoke it just pops back when you let out the throttle. it also burns a little more gas because the o2 see's a lean codition so it richens up when it doesnt need it.
