Default LS6 intake question

What is the largest throttle body the LS6 intake can hold. Can it hold an 85 mm?

Unless you get the snout changed by TPIS it is the stock 75mm. Just get it ported by sponsor.

you can put a larger tb on, but the mouth of the intake is still only 75mm or so.

so that added size is pointless.

kindda like putting a 3" inlet muffler on, but a 2.5" outlet

I measured the mouth on the LS6 intake and it's 75mm, so that seems like a recipe for turbulence unless you port the LS6 inlet

It's not pointless. Using an 85mm in front of a 75mm opening shortens the length of the 75mm restriction. This reduces the pressure drop through the area. Further, it acts as a funnel into the intake, gradually increasing air speed from the filter to the runner.

wmcfa,
Most 85mm TB's are sold w/ adapters & easily connect to the LS6 manifold. Summit sells a good kit @ a good price, if the offer made in this thread doesn't work out for ya. Good-luck

LS1-450 is right. A larger TB also increases throttle response. Pming the OP.
