You can get a used LS6 intake for what? 300 or so? Send it in for the 350 mod and that's only 650. I that is considerably cheaper than the FAST and you probably aren't going to have the problems that go along with that manifold.

Is the oval TB a TPIS thing? I guess I don't understand why the oval would be better.

but if you have a 3 speed auto and you are 500ft from the end of the 1/4 do you want to go flat or pull like a freight train out of the traps.

that is the reason for the fast. not street racen. but at the end of the track needing that last pull and being able to wind into the 7k plus range and still make power

I guess if ya wanna spend the 1500 bucks for a FAST intake and TB set up for 4 more hp at the end of the track instead of getting a better 60ft time (which is more important in my opion) be my guest but i am going to put the Fast to the test with a ls6 90mm on a stock car with exhaust and a cam only car that makes 420hp with your basic 75mm ls6 and a 408ci this spring and post up the dyno numbers and let everone know what does what on diff motor setups

if you already have an ls6 intake you could sell it for 350 which brings the price down to around 800 bux including the throttlebody. apposed to having 650 into a another intake, then you have to buy a 90 mm tb which is 300 on top of that. it would actutally be cheaper the fast intake route.

ls6 intake 300.00
tpis mod 350
90 TB 350

total 1000

sell ls6 intake or save 300-350 for fast -300 to -350
fast intake 845
90 tb 350

total 860 to 890 (depending on what you sell the ls6 intake for)

Are you talking about the 90mm LS6 costing $1000 if you have the LS1 intake?
If so, then you're right, not really worth it.
If not, and you already have the LS6 intake I figure it like this:
90mm LS6- $350
90mm tb- $350
Total- $700
or
FAST intake/tb combo = $1100+
intake gaskets (not included with the FAST)- $25
sell stock LS6 = $300
Total- $825

/\ dont forget getting the intake ported, which seems to be the only way to get the miraculous gains people get with the FAST

in order to run the tpis intake, u have to use there 3 bolt tb if im not mistaken.
the stock ls6 is excellent for most any budget build.
however take into consideration that the fast will ALWAYS retain its value.
most ppl would be reluctant to purchase a modified oem manifold. especially one that has been hacked and rewelded. im not taking anything away from the tpis or its performance. but when it comes down to selling it. most will eventually for whatever reason. most of the value will be recouped and the fast has excellent track record, so someone will buy it.
i have owned a 90/90 fast, weiand and other alum intake manifolds.
ls6 is waht i am most fond of. im not a fan of the fast at all, and will prolly never buy one again, but respect its worth.
sorry long post

Its my understanding that they use a 4 bolt like the LS2. At least this is what they show in the pics.

Question

You don't by chance have a shot of the manifold neck where the 2 pieces were "glued" together do you?

I'm also curious to see some more pictures. I'm gearing up for some winter time mods, and I have a stock LS6 intake sitting here...right next to an LS2. They're both going to be an improvement over my stock LS1...if the 90mm LS6 TPIS setup looks ok I will probably go that route though. If everyone who looks at the car will be able to say "wow, thats glued together" then I will probably avoid it.

Yeh I can get pictures if you guys want I have my digital camera but I won't be back home so I can upload them until Tuesday-Wed night
That is all you guys want is pictures of where the snout is epoxied to the intake?
I work with composites and epoxies at my job, for the past year I have been trying to figure out what exact epoxy TPIS used on the intake
