you can get a used FAST 90/90 setup for about 800 bucks.... i paid 950 for my PORTED 90/90 setup......
so its more like just 500$ more..
and no you are wrong.. with your setup the ls6 is NOT the best choice, the FAST is..
your going with a cam that LOVES to breath, ESPECIALLY up top... that is where the FAST intake shines, and the ls6 doesnt.. so that is a no brainer that the FAST intake is the way to go...
your being stubborn and close minded.... everyone is telling you the best way... your just not listening.. you made your mind up before this thread was started...

AGAIN!!!!!! I will say for every single person on here that for some reason thinks my choice of saving $800 bucks is a bad one....I know the FAST is better....I realize It will make more power...but not enough to make up for the cost diffrence.
It's like a set of stock castings 241's that have been CNC'ed VS an expensive set of heads. Some people would rather spend double the money on a set of heads that have a popular name on them instead of $400 bucks on the CNC'ed ones.....whos smarter...the guy who made 10 more horsepower or the guy that made 10 less horsepower and saved $800-$1000???
All in how you see it. I am done with this thread. Thanks for making my choice easy.

If you're going to spend 300 on an ls6, you apply that to the Fast. You don't want to spend the money on a Fast because you think it's hype?? You may want to step back and educate yourself from people that have proven time and again that they make great power over the LS6 with your combo. As was stated above, search is your friend.
YOU CAN GET A COMPLETE FAST INTAKE AND THROTTLE BODY THAT IS 90MM USED FOR 800$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not your imaginary figures that i saw of 1500... i have NEVER seen a FAST setup go for that.. used/ported.. whatever...

This guy is funny. FWIW, I just sold my Fast 90/90 for $850.
The Fast will make better power than a LS6, and can be ported. It offers more room to grow, allows for the installation of Burst disks(I saw you were talking about nitrous), and is definately the better performer. It's your decision if your budget can afforrd the $500 over an LS6. If you can't afford the fast, get a LS6. If you can afford the Fast......Get it. It sounds like to me you are a typical low-budget guy who wants to qualify later why you only make 390rwhp rather than 430. It's all these little things that add up. If you are going for 390/400rwhp, go for it.
If you were to spend $400 to have "the local machine shop" port your stock heads......Save your money. Don't even go there on the idea that a cheap local P&P comes close to the R&D work of a Lsx specific shop's CNC program's

in your situation, with YOUR SETUP.. the FAST wins hands down, regardless of money... the gains you will pick up because of the ms3/4 with the ls6 heads will be a lot.. ESPECIALLY in higher RPMS...
the ls6 doesnt make that great of power over 5800ish rpms.. the FAST intake shines above 6k rpms... ABOVE 5500rpms is where your going to spend most of your time at WOT.... therefore the FAST would be exceptionally better..

I would buy a used LS6 intake for $300 but something that expensive I would have to buy new. And I have yet to see a 90combo go for that cheap..I am sure it has but honestly It doesnt happen often unless you run into sombody who needs the cash.
Price diffrence aside...Even if it was a great deal used and cost only 500 bucks more....15 horsepower isnt worth that TO ME!!!

Id say $300.00 for a good ls6 intake will do fine. Il let you guys know if I have any problems haha. wow guess I hit a button on that one. Raise your hand if you have a FAST!!! LOL

and there is even more of a reason MOST people with big cams (ms4 hint hint along with the trex and stuff) go with the FAST.. with those setups it REALLY shines over the ls6.. with a smaller cam, you wouldnt see tha much difference..

^ I am leaning towards the MS3 anyway at this point. The power comes on quick and seems like it doesn't need huge room up top. Thanks for all the info guys. Maybe when I do a much larger build I will decide to go with the FAST. Just dont feel that it is worth the money to power increase ratio on this one. Not to mention I don't think that even though it is capable of more...I would never need to use it.

Already have a P&P TB....LS6 intake will come be bought at the same time as everything else at winters end. I had a front tire blow out last week and it threw me into a curb detroying my chrom 17x11 ZR1's and blowing my brand new Eagle f1's. So I had to sell my pushrods, custom grind 235-240-600-609 111.5 cam, heads, and all the parts I had gathered to fix everything. Now I have to start all over and do a damn budget build...maybe thats why I am coming accros as an *******. Sorry guys haha.

Sounds like you are good with a LS6. My car originally came with a Ls1 intake. I upgraded to a LS6/Ported TB, then to a Fast 90/90. Now i am Edelbrock Vic. Jr w/ high flow elbow and Edelbrock TB.
I guess to me what i learned is get the best, because I GUARENTEE YOU in time you will begin questioning "I wonder how much is sitting on the table not having a fast 90/90?". And before you know it, you will be in the classified's looking for one. I'm not a Fast nut-swinger by any means. Hell, I could care less if you run a truck intake. Just don't look like a close-minded fool(you were in the beginning of this thread) insinuating people are wasting money on a fast, or "only spending the extra $$$ because of a name"

Your going with a MS series cam and a LS6 intake. Good for you. Not only will you be crying about your low torque numbers around town, you will be crying about low HP numbers as well. Any MS series cam loves RPM"S. Im sure we didnt have to tell you that. The FAST picks up 20 HP at LEAST.... Threw the ENTIRE RPM band. This MS cam is going to hate you for going with a LS6. To each there own I guess, But all these people who have a FAST, understand that at the dino and the track.... its that little "extra" that made you faster than the guy next to you.... with an LS6.

While the original poster is posting question threads about things he's already decided, I bought a NEW fast 92 intake for $550 thanks to live cash back and ebay coupons.
Sure it's overpriced and the dollar vs HP gain is not as good as the ls6 intake, an at the end of the race when my car crosses the line first because of just a few more HP we can discuss how you got more bang for your buck.
