Aftermarket valve covers
A ton of info I had been looking for in here.
I am getting ready to install a LS6 valley cover, RevXtreme catch can and some GMPP Valve covers.
I am good with running all the hoses except that the aftermarket valve covers don't have any ports to hook the hose to the TB.
The only thing I could think of is:
1) Blocking off the port on the TB, slap on a breather and not worry about it...but after reading this, that may not be the ideal setup.
2) Drill/tap and add a fitting to the valve cover to install the hose. I need to take a look at the covers to see if i can do that.
3) Maybe add something like the attached picture on top of the valve cover and run a hose to the TB...This might be the easiest.
Any suggestions on what I should do?

Or use AN to AN if you want to use some nice hose. If you use a breather like the one in the above post, make sure it doesn't have a PCV valve inside; Many of these do.

Try moving the catch can to the clean side and see if this helps the problem. One important aspect of maintaining a sealed PCV system AND minimizing carry over oil ingestion is a quality catch can.
If your eBay can is an empty container with hose ports, its not doing much of anything to reduce the speed of the blow by gases exiting from the crankcase. Forced induction applications are more sensitive to this because of the increased crankcase flow. PCV flow must be below 1 meter/second for as long as possible for carry over oil to separate from the crankcase stream.

I've got a question for you.
I am getting a lot of oil through the tube that connects the passenger side valve cover to the throttle body. I believe it's what you refer to as the "clean side". That's where I was planning on putting a catch can. But I noticed that someone else did that and was told that he had it in the wrong location.
In my case, that seems to be where I do need it. Why is that? Why is my clean side pumping oil into my throttle body? And yes, I did double check. There is definitely il coming in the clean side.
Is this normal? Or do I have a problem I am unaware of? The car is running well, I just don't like the mess.
Do I need a catch can on both the clean and dirty side? Or is there another solution?

Very interesting thread. I have a few questions, if thats alright? One is, will the clean side always be the passenger side/dirty side drivers side due to rotation of engine, or is it reversable. Also, I'm running a RevXtreme catch can, and it blocks off the front port on the clean side, but then what is the rear still used for? If the front is closed off, where is it going to pull for the clean side? (ls1)

For any of those interested in the RevXtreme catch can, here's some pics of it installed (with the sticker removed). Also found a sticker in my engine bay I never noticed until the topic.
