Go for the stainless man. I've had both pacesetters and QTP's... I know it's not a fair comparison but just basing the comparison on the material used the stainless is worlds better than the mild steel. My pacesetters looked like **** after a year and the car was never driven in rain/snow, just on nice, dry days. The stainless headers looked just as nice as the day I put them on when I pulled them off, just with a nice golden tint to them!

to answer the question about which y with the pacesetters, i was looking at the texas-speed.com y. which is worlds better then the pacesetter y. im going to go with the lpp headers because of the stainless, i just wanted to get your opinions as to which one would be better.

id much rather get stainless for the rust reasons, why not spend the extra $100-200 for something that will last the life of the car? lol i know i am.

i just havent read much about the lpp since its a new company. i can tell the header design is good, but i read in a few diff posts that they had problems with the y

How about this, explain why ARH are worth paying the extra money? I hope to buy some headers sometime this year and as of right now I'm thinking of going with LPP and ORY, but I've looked at Kooks a lot and even ARH.

I have pacesetters now and don't have any problems. If i did it again tho and i knew about lpp i would do it in a heartbeat. There a great header for a great price fit good and are stainless steel.

I have the ARH stainless steel 1-7/8 pri. 3in. collector with ORY and i have to say the quality is second to none the welds and quality of material used like extra thick header flanges is excellent and they clear perfectly unlike some of the other systems that hit and rattle or that have thin header flanges and warp and you get an exaust leak neither of which is good "ask me how i know"lolol.. My car picked up alot i went from stock manifolds on a 383 (i know) a cam and some light mods still stock heads and intake. and when i had the headers put on i also switched clutches and put a twelve bolt in and it was putting 350rwhp and 390 rwtq before the tune. after LMR tuned it it put down 433rwhp and 434rwtq. thats 80rwhp gain i know my car was far from stock (internally) when i installed these so most people wont see gains like this but damn thats impressive in my book. With this combo i have now im putting down 500rwhp N/A. And the sound of the ARH's is UNBELEIVABLE especially with supporting mods, my car sounds incredibly nasty. I have to say im glad i saved my money a little longer and held out it was definately worth the wait...

I bought 2 year old pacesetters, they had some surface rust, but nothing big. Work fine on my car. Tho I didnt like the TSP ORY (bought new)... I ended up spending even more money to get a flowmaster merge on there.

One thing I have learned with these cars and aftermarket parts is you get what you pay for. I know you said no ARH but Im getting those in an 1-7/8 and a GMMG to finish it off. Going to be going to a 370 so might as well get my money's worth.

Build it once, build it right, build it strong.

while that is true, if you notice i have koni shocks and a full suspension. i agree with the do it right once.

but the main reason people get arh, qtp, kooks is for stainless. lpp headers are stainless. and i cant imagine the other 3 will put down an extreme difference in power. the price difference just doesnt justify enough for me unfortunately.

And how good is stainless at reducing under-hood temps? Have you seen how stainless headers discolor over time? Some people prefer it, some hate it. Know before you decide, though.
