Default LS2 Intake on 346ci ANYONE tried this!!!

I was wondering if anyone has tried the LS2 intake on a 5.7? I bought one because its way cheaper than buuying a used LS6 or a FAST and I wanted the 90mm TB..

I want to hear from ppl that have tried this and how good it work or how bad it works and the DYNO numbers from switching if ya got them

I know ppl knock them but DONT KNOCK it unless youve tried it!!

thx

There was test done when the LS2 came out and the LS6 made more power on the LS2 motor. I dont think LS2 intake is any good.

stock the ls2 is not much better than the ls1 if at all, but ported and epoxied it flows about as well as a fast 90. it's been done. you need either the rails/injectors off the ls2 or to bend the stock rails i think, not entirely sure. also a tb adapter if you're using a stock ls1 tb.

Bad move. The LS6 is a much better performer than the LS2.

Well ive herd the same ported makes real good power like a fast tpis has there dyno test results of there 90mm ls6 vs the ls2 on a 346 and the difference was very very small where talking 1hp.

Look at intake number 4(LS6 90mm w tpis tb) comparder to intake number 12(LS2 90mm with tpis tb)

http://www.tpis.com/index.php?module=2_17_06

This test was done on a 346ci with cam and heads which is similar to what im going w

On this site there is another test done w the ls6 vs ls2 but this was done on a big cube motor.....and if im not going this route y waste the money ya know.

who cares what it did on the ls2 motors thats a bigger cubic inch i wanna know what the hp diff is on a 346... what it did on the 6.0 mean nothing to me cause i got a 5.7

I gues my point is like "therealcreeper'' said ported correctly and epoxy right it can flow almost as good as a FAST

1.its only $275 from that i have herd for cory at ls2portworks to do this.

2.You can get a LS2 intake for $100-$200 buck (i got mine for $100

thats only $375 comparded to 850-900 bucks for a FAST?.......kinda a no brainer if this is true

My buddies got a ms4 car which bolts ons that make 421hp 396tq witha stock LS6 we might switch out intakes after i have cory port mine and get the TB and stuff to just swap the intake and see what the results are and that will prove it and clear this all up
You guys my be right it may make less i just wanted to see if anyone on here has already done so cause if not im goin to try it cause im curious as hell about this

Isn't the mouth of the ls2 bigger than on an ls6????? I want to go to a 90/90 set up and thought this would be the cheaper way to go. I just thought that ls2 intake with 90mm t/b would flow better than the ls6 witht the stock 78mm on it. Please let me know if you think that is a mistake.

I have a reverse split cam, bigger injectors and 90mm t/b on its way and I'm gonna put it in the way it is. It is at least as good as the ls6 intake according to the chart on this thread.

im running an LS2 intake on my build, it was cheaper than ls6 about $100.. and is an upgrade from ls1...so for the money its a no brainer. just need to modify a 90mm tb if used with ls1 accessories ie. waterpump. may have a clearance like mine, but i accomodated it.

Just got done comparin the ls6 stock 75mm to the ls2 90mm AND TPIS 90mm ls6 modifided intake.........i took the link i posted on here earlier and opend up 2 windows and sized to windows down and put them side by side and the ls2 has gains over the 75mm way over the ls6 and is real close and even made more power than the tpis ls6 90mm .........THIS IS W/O PORTING IT GUYS or changing the tune which is kinda of a bad comparison i call tpis asked them and they said this test was done a long time ago and there was no timing or ari fuel changes just swaping intakes around on a 346ci with some mild heads.

What needs to be done to have a LS2 intake on an LS1?

Fuel rails? What about the Throttle body as said a few posts above?

90mm t/b that is cable actuated. I don't know about the fuel rails but I have the fuel rails for the ls2. most of the t/b that come thru on the ls2 are drive by wire(electic)

ya need
1.ls2 rails

2.ls2 style injectors (need katech harness adaptor $99.00) or you space up your ls1 rail w there spacer kit for $25 and run your ls1 rail and injectors.
http://store.katechengines.com/share...ount2=33332467 scroll down and click on conver and swaps
3.90mm tb lots out there that fit it(NW TPIS FAST BLUEMAX EDLEBROCK) (eldebrock has a 90mm tb thats 260 shipped)
http://www.sdparts.com/product/E3864...VICTORUNI.aspx
4.map wire extender $25 (cause the map is in the front instead of the back)
http://store.katechengines.com/share...ount2=33332467
scroll down and click on conver and swaps

5. U need a bracket to hold your throttle and cruise cable since these intake are drive by wire SLP has them for $69 kinda high could make your own if ur handy.
http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...09&BIG=12509-1

there ya go theres a list of part and the web sites to find them at.
