Default Fast 78mm TB question

When buying a Fast 78 do you have to use the sensors from the stock TB?

Thanks
Brady

I dont know much about this stuff, so this is a learning question,

why would you do this?

....does it outflow a stock 78mm ported tb?

seems quite costly, why not upgrade to an 80mm/85mm or even 90mm. Or to stay cost effective just get the stock one pnp'd

Because it comes attached to an intake I'm looking at and I want to try it out. I think gains are minimal over ls6 and ported stocker, but i'd like to try it anyway.

yes you reuse the sensors

the fast 78 seems to be a very underrated setup for mild cars from what I've read from KNOWLEDGEABLE people on this site instead of the people who just blurt how something sucks if its not the flavor of the month

see them pretty cheap sometimes too

no it wasn't directed at anyone, just seems these threads usually end up with people who just come in to say "get a fast 92 or keep the ls6" without reading anything or saying why

ported stock tbs are great and very cost effective though, but after the second response I'm under the impression he is getting the fast 78 tb and intake? if not my mistake

btw a 90mm will not bolt to a stock type intake

Thunderstruck,
Thanks for the advice, I was planning on here a bunch of "just get as Ls6/Fast 92" but I want to try something different. The way I see it......if im racing a guy with a Ls6/ported TB and I have a Fast 78/78, I should have an advantage. ever so slight, it's still an advantage. Who cares if you save a few bucks if you are behind. Also, I think the Fast intakes look great under the hood as well, although alot of people disagree.

BTW, nice Chevelle.

Brady

Edit: I'm coming from a LS1 intake so I know it will be an improvement.

yes it will

and supposedly the fast 78 makes within 5hp of the fast 90 stock for stock, so I would bet they still outflow a ls6 if you're willing to spend the money...plus you can port it some
