Question Anyone heard of this free mod????

A buddy of mine told me too take my throttle body off and on the flap that opens n shuts there is a lip that makes the air curve... he said to take it off and i will have better air flow... is this true or am i just wasting my time by even attempting it..

You're talking about on a truck right? I've seen one of those and thought wtf, taking it off looks like it'll give it 50 more hp.

It looks like a half circle of sheet metal attached to the throttle body blade.

i dont know what "flap" you speak off but a few years ago gmhightech magazine put an article on free mods which one had to do with removing a small indent on the back portion of the throttle body. that and cutting out a portion of the air filter tray and descreening the mass air, and also circumcising the egr tube going into the intake

It sounds like he's just talking about porting the throttle body and cutting half of the shaft out. The shaft is less important than working on the housing, but in general it's probably the best of the free mods.
