Default 99 Escalade modability?

Hi, im kinda looking for technical information, i tried searching but didnt find what i wanted.

Well I have a 99 escalade w/56k miles not too bad, i have a ebay cold air intake which doesnt block off the heat from the engine, probly doesnt help much at all... im also interested in getting a catback, or just changing the muffler to probly a magnaflow or Flowmaster.

Now im doing this cheap because its not that important to me.

Just wondered what kind of rearend does my truck have? 10 bolt 12bolt? gear ratio? Also say in the future if i do a turbo or supercharger, how much HP can the stock block and rotating assembly handle? I wasnt sure if this site has this type of information. Thanks

I'd just change the muffler and get a Magnaflow. You could try to fab up your own heat shielding to improve your intake.

You could play it on the safe side and only run 5-7 psi. Don't know what that engines limitations are though.

Right, i'll thought about fabbing up a heat shield. Also magnaflow or Flowmaster mufffler. Just dont want my truck to sound like a beat redneck vehicle. I wasnt sure if anyone with a tahoe, or yukon has done these things.

The iron block 6 liters will hold quite a bit of boost. My buddy runs 14ish lbs on the stock bottom end and it doesn't complain at all. I would get some Borla XR-1s and dual it out.

THis is LT1 Style motor, not an LS1. Maybe i should just throw a Magnaflow muffler or flowmaster on it. Just for fun for now.

99 Escalade has a 5.7 ltr R engine. I would not mess with doing anything to it. It basically is a 4.3 vortec engine with 2 more cylinders.

I have some 1.6 roller rocker arms for that motor for $150. Let me know if interested.
