Default how come noone runs the typhoon?

I did a search on here and found what seemed like a ton of good reviews and backup.

So how come everyone is so addicted to having a fast intake once they start making power? The Typhoon seems too perform well and is seemingly half the cost. You can get the intake with fuel rails for 400 bucks as compared to 800+ for the same thing from fast.

They had some problems when they first came out but lately they sound like a good alternative. Ill throw some more fuel on the fire though you might consider sending your LS6 off to TPIS to have them glue a 90mm snout on it. Costs about the same and its lighter than the typhoon.
Either way would be a nice choice, but personally I dont think you have a reason to go with something other than an LS6 unless your pushing ALOT of power.

Unless he wants to dress up his engine bay. The LS6 is boring looking and looks stock.

I know of a couple of guys that went with the Aluminum intakes on street rods just for the looks and yes the ls6 is boring unless it's painted.

Just did a street tune for now, no numbers yet. Don't have a dyno available and the synchros in the trans were toast---a run down the track would have been worthless. His trans is getting rebuilt next week, we'll head to the track afterward to fine tune and see how she does. The car was a A4->M6 swap and still has 3.23's, so I'm expecting low 12's if he can drive and it hooks.

i was looking in to a few intakes and i went with the bbk ssi intake.
i tryed 4 times to get the ls6 and it never worked out, the fast is way to much money and the typhoon intake is a good piece but i dont like it because it uses the old style paper intake gaskets.
the bbk is a good choice it is very high quality and it uses the oem type gaskets and is a very nice looking piece in person.
i found a dyno graph of a vette with the same mods as me and he swaped his ls1 intake to the bbk and piced up 27 hp and 14 tq at the wheels.
i dont expect to pic up that much but its going to the dyno to work out some tranny issues so ill get the tune dialed in and see what it makes.
