Default 1 3/4 LPP headers or TSP 1 7/8 headers??

I'm going to be picking up some headers in the next day or two and was trying to decide between these two.

What would you guys go with? I will be doing H/C later down the road and this exhaust will be setup with the TSP duals so do you think the larger TSP headers will perform that much better than the smaller LPP's?

The only reason I am considering the LPP's is that they're stainless and I hated my old pacesetters that I had. They rusted very quickly and looked like ****. I am thinking the TSP headers will do the same. I had a set of QTP's a while back and they looked great until the day I took them off and sold them.

Thanks!

i vote lpp, i have them, and couldnt have asked for a smoother install. they look great, fit great, stainless, and have a good merge collector. nothing but good things from them.

Thanks for the response man. How much do you guys think I'll be giving up by going with the smaller primaries on a H/C setup? Wonder if it would even out by having the better merge collectors on the LPP's?

maybe 5 up high and low. the larger primaries shine with larger cubed motors.

So a H/C stock cubed LS1 probably wouldn't benefit too much from them. I think I'm more or less going with them for the Stainless Steel as opposed to the coated mild steel.

I'm leaning with the LPP's at this point. I just really like the fact that they're stainless. I would go with ARH or Kooks but don't want to spend that kind of money really.

Yeah, well that test was comparing the old pacesetters with the brand new designed TSP headers. I would hope that the TSP's would outperform them lol.

Anyways, I was going to swap in solid MM's and the TSP headers evidently don't like them because it drops them down a bit. The LPP's hit on the stock motor mounts from what I understand. So Swapping to the solids may clear that problem up and I think they'll be alright with the steering shaft as well with the smaller primaries.

I don't know. We'll see. I think I'm just going to go with the LPP's. Like I said before I like the fact that they're stainless. I've had bad luck with mild steel/coated headers. They just look terrible after a little while and I think that the 1 3/4 headers will perform just fine for what I'm wanting to do. If I ever switch to larger cubes then I'll throw in the 1 7/8 headers.

You guys that are saying TSP why are you choosing them? Just curious.

These two headers are the same price basically.

One is larger, one is smaller with better merge collectors. The smaller ones are stainless.

I have LPP's, just installed them this past weekend. They look great on there and install wasn't that bad for a couple guys on their first LS1 header install. I went with them because they were stainless and at a good price. I don't plan on doing heads and cam any time soon though.

I voted LPPs. But, I guess you could say im a bit biased tho . Havent had any experiance with the TSPs, but id go with a stainless header over coated every time, especially for the price.

I went with the LPP headers guys. Just wanted to update this thread. I'll post up my impressions after install. I will be using Spohn Solid Motor mounts and TSP duals with either the Sweet Thunders or the Moroso Spiral flows.

I just couldn't pass up a stainless header for $500. I may lose a few HP but I swore to myself after the last time I installed the mild steel/coated header that I would never do it again. They just look terrible after a while...

good choice on the lpps. and if you dont have a welder or dont feel like paying someone to help with the install id suggest you go with tsp, i had to custom make my xpipe but i have a lift and a welder.

i still vote sweet thunder over moroso. i was in the same boat as you but i went with sweet thunder because of the sound. and i heard that moroso had issues with power loss. didnt know if it was true or not but it scared me.

Yeah, I've been reading that's an issue. The real reason I went with the LPP's is the fact that they're stainless. $500 for a set of stainless headers is an awfully good deal. And I'm not concerned with loosing the FEW HP that I'm losing by going with the smaller primaries. It's just going to be a H/C stock CI car

Wow, I was going to get the TSP's because I am going to run my 383 with huge cam and N2o but I have the solid mounts too so maybe I should look into the LPP's? Where are you guys getting them? I rather go with the b igger tubes but don't want to pay for the other brands!
