Which exhaust should I get? Alright so I just got my 2001 ws6 M6 a couple weeks ago and now i'm wanting to put a cat back on it.... It already has a flowmaster muffler replacing the stock one but i hear those are still pretty restrictive. What exhaust in your opinion is the best sounding and best performing exhaust for under like $500-$600?

Are you in to raspy exhausts? Loudmouths are just that "raspy". I personally love my magnaflow cat back. Its quiet at idle, but is loud at wot. By advice to you, get a magnaflow exhaust and an electric cutout.
With a $500 budget you have a few options.
Without cats:
Magnaflow & Hooker
With cats:
SLP LM1, SLP LM2, TSP rumbler, Used GMMG if you can find it

Edit: I guess I should note that Magnaflow & Hooker will sound
good with cats also. It will be pretty quiet though.

Loudmouth 2. Just installed it on my car. Its not raspy at all. It has a very nice clean sound all the way through the rpm range. I was actually expecting it to be louder even with the rest of the stock exhaust...but still sounds good.

It really depends on what mods you have or plan on doing. The sound of these cars changes drastically once you start doing motor mods. If it's basically stock and you plan on keeping it that way, the magnaflow is a good choice.

My Hooker was no louder than stock before the mods in sig went on. Now that **** is LOUD

i had the lm2 with an o/r Y and it sounded good. not raspy at all but still somewhat loud.
borla sounds good but may be somewhat out of your price range unless you can find a good used catback. magnaflow is also a good choice

well, if you arent gonna be adding headers or anything, i would definitely go with LM1. magnaflow is another great stainless steel system that sounds great, but is very quiet. the hooker catback is a good flowing one also. its quiet at idle but i think its has a deeper sound that magnaflow. but if i was just adding a catback i would go with the SLP loudmouth 1.
A buddy of mine just installed his magnaflow and AR lt's with cats last week. It sounds great, especially on the outside .Nice deep tone. Not nearly as loud as my GMMG and catted lt's.
Between the two of them I'd still choose my GMMG. It's expensive but I love it
