Default Loudmouth 1 too loud according to the cops

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has cut the resonator out of a loudmouth 1 catback and replaced it with a dynomax or borla bullet. I'm having some issues with the police in my area and pretty much have to make it as quiet as i can with the ms4 prc stg 2.5 and 3500 stall. any suggestions would be much appreciated, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard spot,i really dont have the funds for a new cat back.

Where do you live? Im an officer in Central Florida. We have a modified exhaust law, but it is RARELY if ever enforced. I have only seen it enforced one time and quite honestly the guy was acting like an idiot. **I know this didn't answer your question.** Just curious where you live that they are enforcing it heavily enough to warrant a change.

I'll remember to stay away from St Paul haha. I live in Faribault and go through the cities quite a bit. Can't say the cops have ever really bothered me. But the car is fairly quiet at idle and cruise.
Lots of people have done the borlamouth and dynomouth mod and have gotten rid of a lot of rasp and quieted their cars down quite a bit. Check out ls1sounds.com. I think they have a few of those setups on the site. You should be able to pick up a muffler for either one of those systems pretty cheap.

With those mods... you should look into a whole 'nother catback...

you can try putting another resonator in your I-pipe. Not sure if that will quiten you down enough or not.

I had the lm2 and put the borla xr1 in the i-pipe and it toned it down a little but was still somewhat raspy. Now I have the PowerFlo conversion kit and a cutout in the i-pipe and I like it a lot better cause I don't have the rasp and it has a nice deep quiet tone.

I'd just throw in a magnaflow or borla bullet style muffler in place of the lm1 resignator. I think it sounds a lot better personally too.

i bet that cam with a 3500 stall is loud as ****. There are plenty of threads on here about "borlamouths" and "dynomouths" though.

I tried a medium powerstick, it toned it down a little but not enough. Either cats or a different exhaust are going to do the trick.

youve got those mods and are runnin a loudmouth? you need some duals or a new catback. dumped duals with or without cats would sound much better.

I have the MS3 and I had the LM1 on my car with my hooker longtube competition headers, pacesetter ORY...it was retarted loud. So loud that I got a instant headache within 5 minutes of driving it. At idle, it sounded like someone was setting off fire crackers in my exhaust tips.

I put my stock SLP catback back on and now it just sounds sexy and is very tolerable but screams when you need it too. I have idle videos between the two changes if you want to hear the difference.

my car is a M6.

I'm curious as to what "too loud" sounds like. Do you have a sound clip or video of your setup that we could hear and/or see?

+1 same here with the LM1 and MS3. LM1 is now on the wifes car and a SLP factory style muff in place now until single chamber flow goes on. LM1's are good for factory cam cars but much after that it's stupid loud.

I have the same problems with cops in some towns in Oklahoma.Their just looking for a reason to get some money out of you. I had to pay $144 ticket for modified or defective exhaust ticket on my wife's car just because the *** said it was a noise ordinance law.He should have heard my camaro, he would have **** a brick
