Default TTS longtubes vs. MAC midlengths

Will I really see any gains with the TTS Longtube headers over my current MAC Midlength setup?
Other than ground clearance issues

I would guess 10 to 12 hp, and a better midrange with the LTs. Some LTs have much better ground clearance than others; my QTP's are great; SLP is said to be the worst for ground clearance.

HP? yes. I love my TTS headers. Wouldn't use any other. Mid lenghts don't flow much better than stock manifolds. I think I have read that.

how much hp are you running so far? i always hurd if your not running any thing over 350-360 you wont realy notice the diff. but if you intend on doing heavy inturnal one day (somthing other than heads and cam) i say pop for the long tubes. but if your just playing around go for the lower price tag.

ok so i might be a little bias cus' im running the macs but over all headers are going to be great bang for your buck no matter what ones you go with..... i hurd long tubes were a pain in the *** to set up and install. where as the macs were manigable.
i figgured id start with the macs and if i ever build up a stroker id go with some top-o-de line long tube headers.

My long tubes were easy to set up and install. Some might be hard though . . . Good quote BTW.

MAcs are a good header. Its the shorty headers that wont give much of an increase over the stock manifolds. Plus I know a guy going 9`s on mac mid length headers so Im sure they work pretty good.

yeah might be the brand, i was helping my firend put in his and we had to pull the steering collum, moter mounts. shave the machieneing peggs off of both sides of the block. im not too shure of the brand though... the job took us about 6-7 hours. where as my macs only took about 3-4... we still had to shave the nubbin on the drivers side but other than that it was a rather quick in. alot of people i talked to that have done both installations lt's and mid lengths. say the mids went in alot easier.... that and ive herd some horror storys about having to make clearence by modifying firewalls and all sorts of weard stuff.

I've had Mac's with a cat y-pipe and currently I'm running the TTS LT's with cats. IMHO the Mac's were almost as good as the TTS LT's. If I wouldn't have got such a great deal on the TTS headers I definitely would've left the MACs on.

hmm... i'm not trying to hijack your thread or anything but this thread is helping me also cause i'm thinking about ditching my mac's and going with pacesetter LT's. i know mac's made my car and other people i talk to car's run rich but they also make good hp and tq. i'm in a delima now, go with pacesetters or get my verter restalled and get some pulleys. i do know longtubes will give you some hp and a little bit of tq over the mac's but i've been hearing about 10 if you're lucky.

If you already have the macs, I don't think it is worth the extra expense and labor. What do the TTS's cost? I would use the money for a torque converter if you don't already have one.

btw, I am using macs and they work just fine for me.

I bought the Headers last night. I have my Mac's sold so my overhead on the TTS's is minimal.
Next mod is Cam and LS6 intake and PCV conversion

I swapped from Macs to TTS headers a few years.

TTS have great ground clearance and nice thick flanges.

Longtubes should help all over.

What? You're crazy!

When you stop in a parking lot that is slightly on a hill your headers are SUPPOSED to scrape the ground!
