Default oil stick removal for headers?

how do you remove the oil stick? I'm installing some longtubes and all the guides say to remove the oil stick, but I've removed that 15mm bolt and i can't find anything else to unscrew and it won't budge.
Thanks for any help

It's just the one bolt in the block and pull straight up. There is a O ring on the bottom of the pipe in the block.

I think my Dad pried it up with a screwdriver while I pulled up and wiggled at the same time.

You already removed the only bolt so it should come out...

Dont pull straight up on the stick. Kind of wiggle it in a circle and the give a slight tug up. You need to break loose the connection that "O" ring has. If you pull on it, all it is going to want to do is roll that o ring up and make it tighter. move in circles and slight pull up move in circles and slight pull up. You will see that the circles you are making are getting bigger as the tube moves up. Do not go ape SHAT and bend the tube all up and break it off just go nice and easy and it will pull right out.

Thanks. My hands are actually bleeding from pulling on that thing so hard. But that sounds like a much more effective strategy, I'm gonna give it a try in the morning

like a 15mm bolt. . . then you ROTATE the dipstick and pull at same time. . .

Conan. . . wrong hole for the bolt. . .it's up by the headers higher and centered.

The same thing happened to me during my header install. I was under the car with vice grips twisting and pushing while someone pulled from the top and it didn't budge. Put a lot of PB Blaster where the tube goes in to the block. After I did that, I pulled it out from the top with just my hands.

Wiggle and pull as hard as you can. You think its hard to get out? Wait till you have to put it back in!

Be extra careful to NOT bend the bracket that holds the tube to the head with the 15 mm bolt. If it gets bent in the wrong direction it will not permit the tube to go all the way into the hole leaving the tube partially out of the hole allowing oil out of the hole - it makes a mess in hurry.

In other words - the bracket lines up with the hole for the bolt. If the bracket isn't in the correct position the tube will be out of position as well.

Also - if the tube isn't pressed completely into the hole you will get a false reading on the dipstick showing less oil in the pan than the actual amount. The reason is because the bracket is bent.

well, my bracket wasn't in exactly the right position but i managed to screw it back in... I'm pretty sure i got it all the way back into the hole but now i'm going to double check. I know its not exactly right because there was a lot more resistance than normal when i put the dipstick back in, but it did go in all the way. So far that oil stick was the biggest PITA of the entire install of these headers... but I haven't tried putting in the drivers side yet, so we'll see how that goes.

If the oil level is topped off by quarts added before and now the reading is showing low - the bracket is out of position or tube in not all of the way in the hole.

Looking up from the bottom you can see if the tube is seated completely in the hole.
