What else did you take off during the install? Did you mess around at all with the starter?

i also removed the egr and air systems.

also there is no oil pressure when I turn the key half way to the point where the fuel pump kicks on. I'm not positive but I'm think i remember there being oil pressure when the fuel pump turned on.

oil pressure should only start to build once the motor is started and running for about 2-3 seconds. There will be no oil pressure if the key is just on accessory, the engine needs to be running to build oil pressure.

if it runs for a few seconds then dies, check all plugs, make sure you didn't crack any of them putting the headers on, all plug wires are on nice a tight(and connected to the correct plugs obviously) check the coils again also.

Did you have your Crankshaft Position Sensor unplugged? The CKPS is located on the passenger side of the block, just above the starter. I'm not 100% sure this is the problem. I'm not quite sure why it would fire just for a second, then die. I would check to be sure its plugged in nice and snug. Without the CKPS, the motor will just turnover, but never fire. I know I had mine disconnected when I did my headers, so it'd be worth a look. You could also check your oil level sensor on the same side on the outside of the oil pan. Again, check to be sure its plugged in good. I believe without it, the PCM can't read if there is any oil and would kill the engine. (Thats kinda a guess, but still worth looking at.) Good luck and keep us posted on what you find out.

it is open headers, ypipe isn't here yet. And no, there is no cam in it, thats the problem. Pretty sure it shouldn't behave like that without a cam.

it can mess them because they are much closer to the outside cooler air when you are running straight headers. I would at least put some turn downs on them if you plan on driving straight headers for very long

well i'm cancelling my ypipe order tomorrow and taking it to a shop to have them connect the headers to the rest of the exhaust. So it won't be open headers for long

Order yourself a Flowmaster Merge to have the exhaust shop weld into your Y-pipe. It's supposed to save on rasp and better better flowing than just slamming the two pipes together. Good luck.
