Default RevXtreme catch can rattle

I bought a RevXtreme catch can new from another member. Since I've put it on, the PCV valve inside the can rattles like hell! I mean it's loud. Cars in front of me can hear it when I'm stopped at a red light. I've gotten looks from people as I pull into a parking lot.

Just wondering if anyone else has the problem. I'm pretty sure it's normal but has anyone figured out a way to get it to quiet down?

I would like a vid, I was getting ready to buy one when I saw this. If it is "normal" for it to rattle like hell I think I'll pass.

The rattle is normal, that's just the nature of the type of valve they use. I only hear the rattle when I am passing something and I am at about 1k rpm. 1k seems to have just enough vacuum to move the ball in the valve for me.

Mine doesn't rattle at idle like yours is though. I think that RevXtreme will send you the supplies to fix it yourself, or will do it themselves for a small fee if you send it in.

I've emailed RevXtreme, waiting for a reply. I'm in no way upset with them, just wondering if this was normal or not. Maybe I'll send them a PM and like them to this thread.

Holy **** that sounds like ***. Is the vavle on the side serviceable. I would think so and I would try and insolate it a little bit. Sounds like it echos through the catch can. I still want one but would like some more input and info on how common this is.

I would suspect looking at the pics that it is an early version and the dispesion tube may have come loose inside. Send it back for a free upgrade and it will be turned around in 1 day & back to you. Should NOT be anywhere near that loud. In fact it is barely noticeable with the hood open.

Yea, you can just hear mine rattle with the hood up. Nothing like that one. Awesome of Tracey for offering to swap it out.

Just sent my old can back to RevXtreme. I have to say that even though something is apparently wrong with this one, it still caught alot of oil. When I emptied it out, it was at least 3 tablespoons full.
